​2nd Annual Save the Pumpkins - ​5K Trek or Treat Event

The Second Annual Save the Pumpkins was held on October 14, 2023 in downtown Burwell, Nebraska. New this year was “The Night Before” Vendor Show & Race Packet Pickup held at The Hitching Post. Race participants were able to pick up their race packets, as well as sip, shop, and browse "The Night Before" vendors. A total of 15 non-profits and businesses had vendor booths.

The event had 85 generous sponsors, 62 incredible volunteers, and 104 amazing participants that signed up for the 5k run, 5k walk, or one mile fun walk. Many participants also signed up for the costume contest.

Race registration included a t-shirt and drink ticket. Throughout the day a fall festival was held at the Hitching Post which included: a pancake feed (sponsored by Burwell Get Fit), petting zoo, pumpkin decorating (sponsored by The Green Thumb) silent and live auctions.

Proceeds from the Second Annual Save the Pumpkins went to 4 THE CURE for a total of $13,393.00 and Sandhills Strong - Save the Pumpkins Account for a total of $13,393.00!
